It could be spotted on and off the runway shows for spring/summer 2011: The new awkward lenght of circle-cutted skirts and of A-line culottes. It seams that the designers rummaged in their design archives and were reinterpreting design classics of the late 1940`s and 50`s. The updated designs generate a new modernist vintage sensibility with a classic elegant styling, edging smugness. The modest and humble recutted styles are updated with a contemporary aesthetic and maintain a certain sense of relaxed formality. The new mantra of revamp, reinvent and reuse is not just convincing my designer`s eye, it arouses a gut feeling of adorable must-have pieces.
